Lone Pine Distilling Inc., a craft distillery based in Edmonton, Alberta, is looking for a career-oriented individual to manage sales and service in the bar and store front at the distillery.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the business aspects of the bar; assisting in negotiating supplier contracts, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
  • Hiring and training staff for the front of house to provide excellent service to patrons.
  • Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that bar is well-staffed during peak hours.
  • Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls for the front of house.
  • Effectively delegating responsibilities and maximizing resources.
  • Regular interaction with clients and further reinforcing the brand experience.
  • Working with and accommodating diverse personalities, including staff and patrons.
  • Planning and taking part in promotional events.
  • Diffusing, de-escalating or intervening in tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues; ejecting unruly persons, if needed.
  • Maintaining a fun and safe atmosphere for patrons.

 
Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma at minimum.
  • Strong understanding of business management; related education would be an asset.
  • Experience in hospitality industry is required; bar or restaurant management experience is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Excellent computer and admin skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to be flexible and take a hands-on approach working alongside the team.
  • Willingness to work during peak hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to make quick and effective decisions in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, and occasionally carry heavy items.
